SCOPE AND NATURE OF ROLE:
As part of the Zawyer Sports organization, the Atlanta Gladiators strive to provide affordable family sports entertainment with an emphasis on quality fan experiences, community engagement and producing a competitive sports team. The Merchandise Manager will be responsible for contributing to the growth and profitability of the merchandise department through effective management of online and in-arena retail operations. The right candidate will possess the skills and experience to manage inventory, participate in retail marketing and lead and motivate the retail team to provide an unforgettable experience to our guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage all merchandising and retail operations functions for the Atlanta Gladiators online store, in-arena retail locations, warehouse operations, sales, and team members
  • Create in-store merchandising displays to ensure maximum visual impact and revenue generation. Ensure the rotation of merchandise on a regular basis to optimize revenue
  • Maintain all products on the online store including rotation and availability of seasonal merchandise, creating/updating collections, regularly updating online store graphics and ensuring the consistency of product images.
  • Execute in-store marketing promotions, events, and campaigns, including signage, POP displays, and floor arrangements
  • Coordinate with department heads to develop cohesive sales and marketing plans for jersey auctions, special event nights and online auctions.
  • Oversee online order fulfillment to ensure all orders are shipped within 72 hours.
  • Manage the weekly merchandise department team’s schedule to properly maintain inventory including receipt, rotation and set up of retail locations for Atlanta Gladiators games.
  • Collaborate with Zawyer Sports merchandise management team on product assortment and new product development.
  • Work with Zawyers Sports marketing team to ensure that promotions effectively drive store traffic, boost sales, and enhance brand visibility
  • Promptly address and resolve any customer issues in-person and via email.
  • Manage all aspects inventory processing including receipt, physical check in and tagging of all Atlanta Gladiators retail inventory while adhering to Zawyer Sports Protocols
  • Coach and lead retail team members and interns to provide a fantastic guest experience and drive sales.
  • Implement store opening and closing procedures including merchandising, re-stocking, signage placement and adherence to security protocols
  • Supervise and participate in regular physical inventory counts and report discrepancies to Zawyer Sports management. Perform spot checks on merchandise tags to ensure accurate labeling.
  • Attend management meetings to build collaboration with other departments at all locations
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years experience in a supervisory retail position. Sports retail experience a plusBachelors degree in business or sports management preferred.Passion for retail sales, operations and management required.Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead, train and develop team members
Ability to multitask on simultaneous projects with varying deadlinesProficiency in E-commerce and online marketing tools. Knowledge of Shopify a plusExceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteFrequent standing, bending, lifting, walkingAbility to work nights and weekends regularlyAbility to lift up to 30 pounds
