Overview

Participates in the Convention, Civic Center, and Theater maintenance program and assists in event related activities as required. 

 

This role has a wage of $ 21.00 - $24.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance on all electrical, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC systems, and repair or replace same as needed 
  • Monitor and operates facility electrical, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC equipment as needed 
  • Perform special project and repair work to facility and or equipment as assigned by Engineering Manager/Director of Operations  
  • Perform duties as required related to technical aspects of event, including but not limited to telecommunication, electrical service, ice maintenance and banner or other decorating installations tasks  
  • Maintain log on equipment maintenance and files equipment maintenance records as directed by Engineering Manager 
  • Maintain inventory, reports shortages, specifies product, and assists in purchase under direction of Engineering Manager 
  • Submits work orders/documentation and follows procedures/processed as outlined 
  • Assist Engineering Manager as assigned in coordination of activities relative to construction contractors, city services, subcontractors, and vendors 
  • Supervise others in the performance of maintenance tasks, as required 
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Proven and demonstrated expertise in HVAC systems in a commercial facility; high school graduate/GED preferred. 
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in the maintenance of building systems in a commercial facility; completion of approved training or apprenticeship program 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; responds well to direction; works well without immediate supervision; organized, detail oriented, reliable. 
  • Ability to work both inside and outside the centers - some exposure to adverse weather conditions; ability to work flexible hours (nights and weekends) in addition to normal business hours, as needed, travel maybe required for performance of any/all duties as outlined
