The Oakland Ballers (aka the B’s) is a new professional baseball team launching in the Spring of 2024. The B’s will join the Pioneer League, which was founded in 1939, as its first ever West Coast franchise. About the Role
The Certified Athletic Trainer will support the day-to-day medical operations of the Oakland Ballers from mid-May to mid-September.  A Certified Athletic Trainer in the Pioneer League, a MLB Partner League, needs to be an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient-centered care. This individual is responsible for the daily administration of Athletic Training services including but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:
  • Injury prevention, testing, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and patient education.
  • Is present for all home games, away games, and practices during the preseason, regular season, and postseason.
  • Provides appropriate referrals to team physician and other health care professionals, in accordance with the standing orders and protocols established by the team physician and medical group.
  • Communicate updates and important information to the coaching staff daily.
  • Analyze injury trends and provide the coaches with recommendations to reduce the likelihood of injury.
  • Maintains accurate medical records on all athletes.
  • Participates in and documents pre and post-season, released players, and newly acquired player physicals with the team physician.
  • Order supplies for the Athletic Training room.
  • Additional duties to be assigned by the General Manager and EVP of Baseball Operations as needed.

Qualifications:
  • National Athletic Trainer’s Association-Board of Certification in good standing
  • State Licensure in good standing
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Professional Liability Insurance
