Position Overview:

The Detroit Tigers are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Strength and Conditioning Assistant during the 2024 Florida Complex League season.   The position will be based in Lakeland, Florida at the Detroit Tigers Spring Training Complex. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting with daily implementation of the Detroit Tigers Strength and Conditioning Program
• Leading/supervising team Warm-ups, Strength Training sessions, and Conditioning sessions
• Assisting Strength and Medical staffs with implementation of rehab programs for injured athletes
• Performing daily facility maintenance and cleaning
• Assisting with data entry and utilization of Sport Science Technology
• Travel with the team for games

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field  
• CSCS Certified through NSCA
• First Aid/CPR Certified
• Desire to work in field of Strength and Conditioning, preferably in Professional Baseball
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with college or professional baseball players
• Experience working with Sport Science Technology including Catapult, ForceDecks, Gymaware, etc.)
• Bilingual (Spanish)

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Ability to relocate to Lakeland, FL for duration of position (Approximately May – September) and work full-time hours
