CENTRAL PARK BOATHOUSE

This historic building started over 150 years ago as an area to explore and rent rowboats, and over the years it has evolved into a landmark restaurant. This iconic space will continue to hold catered events, restaurant services and rowboat rentals to its millions of visitors each year.

THE ROLE

The Group Sales Associate will be responsible for the maintenance and flow of the sales department and all systems included as well as be responsible for the planning and execution of event driven marketing initiatives. They will be responsible for overseeing the sales inquiries and for ensuring all standards are being met by providing accurate and accountable information to potential clients. They will be responsible for all event sales admin work including creating BEO’s, diagrams, rental orders, upselling of the property, maintaining up to date master calendar, maintaining wedding/event lodging blocks, reporting, inventory management, and forward progression and development.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell, coordinate, and help execute guided tours of the venue.
  • Meet or exceed goals for new and returning group sale contracts.
  • Creatively market and actively promote the venue.
  • Complete sales negotiations to increase bookings; coordinate invoices and payments.
  • Assist in creation of new group programs and events that increase sales opportunities and overall group revenue.
  • Respond in a timely manner to calls, inquiries and emails related to the above areas of responsibility and to general information requests as needed.
  • Complete all aspects of event coordination for tour related activities in the venue.
  • Provide superior customer service to clients and prospects.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with management.
  • Represent Legends at community events for purpose of maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Learn about Central Park Boathouse offerings and understand customer needs.
  • Provide sales team with support in various administrative tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in sales/group sales, special events environment; sports or entertainment experience preferred.
  • Have a high level of demonstrated professionalism.
  • Proven sales experience preferred.
  • Must be organized and able to execute both side of the business; sales and operations.
  • Quick learner with ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with and manage different personalities.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, energetic and outgoing personality with a creative, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background in hospitality a plus.
  • Knowledge of TripleSeat
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
  • Follow and encourage your team to follow all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to looking for and reporting any unsafe work conditions, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
  • Report all safety incidents (injuries and illnesses) into the company’s risk management system (Origami Risk) on the same day that the safety incident has been reported to you.
COMPENSATION

$24-26/Hour DOE
