THE ROLE            

The AV Manager manages and assists in the daily support and upkeep for multiple point-of-sale (POS), management computing and communications and events space audio-visual (AV) systems, video conferencing, webcasting, and basic lighting. They provide outstanding customer service to internal departments and potential guests interaction. Schedule flexibility is a must as the food hall and bar are open Monday through Friday and event space can be rented 365 days a year (including nights and weekends). They will lead technicians and act as the liaison between system and service providers and the end users to resolve all system problems. The role reports the General Manager of the venue.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide level 1 and level 2 support for all system (POS, AV, Corporate) issues as well as managing the escalation of these problems with internal and external service providers to ensure resolution
  • Ensure all point-of-sales systems are operational prior to the venue opening and throughout its operating hours
  • Be the main point of contact (POC) for AV systems, including but not limited to client walkthroughs, technical lead, and event support
  • Work with the sales and catering operations team to create a seamless experience for clients
  • Complete all pre-programing activation and coordination with clients, ensuring that requested technology needs are met and in place
  • Attend event order and pre-production meetings as needed
  • Create and execute day to day floor operations including set, strike and scheduling
  • Provide troubleshooting for infrastructure problems, escalating to external providers as necessary while always maintaining a high level of system support to end-users at all times
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate hardware and software upgrades and patches
  • Develop and manage annual release plans as well as ensure the system is tested appropriately following each release
  • Ensure application software configurations are documented and that any changes are effectively managed
  • Diagnose multiple levels of software, firmware and hardware errors and execute solutions
  • Troubleshoot and replace defective hardware and maintain of an accurate inventory
  • Ensure applications are maintained and operated consistent with compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI Compliance)
  • Initiate and implement improvements in all areas of (AV/IT) responsibility
  • Stay current on industry trends in special events and conference meetings
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with clients
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

    GENERAL

    • Serve as main point of contact on all IT and AV related matters for the venue
    • Work with outside partners on any new implementations, maintenance and support of equipment, and network infrastructure
    • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization and adhere to all organizational technology standards
    • Responsible for communicating / promoting IT and AV standards and ensuring they are followed in their facility
    • Ensure all technical support issues are logged in Legends ticketing system - ServiceNow
    • Maintain an inventory of all hardware devices
    • Track all RMA’s
    • Assist in the management of an operational budget and process invoices for IT services
    • Setup and support technology used during all events held at facility
    • Ensure good systems documentation is maintained and stored

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Technical Requirements:

    • Prior experience with A/V hardware, concepts, and technologies
    • Basic PC hardware knowledge (A+ certified or equivalent experience)
    • Experience administering Windows OS, Office 365, and Dropbox
    • Good understanding of networking including TCP/IP, VLAN’s
    • Knowledge and experience with wireless LAN concepts
    • Working knowledge IP phones
    • Exposure to the following application systems would be considered a plus: Revel POS and Chownow (Mobile Ordering)
    • Exposure to event support or retail sales experience preferred but not required
    • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job specific safety training
    • Understanding of PCI Compliance

    Training and Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of IT/AV personnel management and supervision
    • BS/BA with 5+ years of relevant work experience
    • 3+ years’ experience supporting PC and / or POS system hardware
    • Certification in MCSE and/or MCP Preferred
    • Eagerness to work in a rapidly changing, diverse environment and a willingness to accept ownership and responsibility of the IT and AV systems to ensure its 24x7 availability

    • The ideal candidate for this position will be performance driven, have outstanding interpersonal skills, and a strong working knowledge of the technical requirements outlined above

    COMPENSATION

    Competitive salary $85,000- $90,000 (commensurate with experience), and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
