Senior Communications Manager (New York, NY)
The Senior Communications Manager, reporting to the Senior Director of Communications at Overtime, will join a growing team of PR experts that support a variety of top-tier company initiatives including brand announcements and launches, events and supporting the priorities of Overtime’s co-founders. Overtime is working on a hybrid schedule based in DUMBO Brooklyn. 

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, willing to dive right in and learn. This person should have a solid understanding of pitching and researching, with proven experience in landing earned coverage across traditional, new and unexpected consumer, business, sports and industry press and media channels. This candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent writing skills, and enjoy navigating complex (and sometimes ambiguous) projects. The candidate should work well under pressure and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, while also valuing close collaboration with others. The ideal candidate will also have enthusiasm for Overtime. 

What You'll Do: 
  • Draft and develop internal and external materials required for announcements including press releases, pitches, media lists and other media communications 
  • Build and maintain relationships with media
  • Draft award submissions and apply for relevant speaking engagements
  • Work with the Senior Director of Communications to serve as a media liaison for local, national and international press responsible for responding to all press inquiries 
  • Monitor all relevant media stories involving Overtime, it’s co-founders and other industry news
  • Demonstrate good judgment in escalating problems and assessing communication risk
  • Continually bring new creative and strategic approaches that will optimize company objectives and goals 
  • Travel and facilitate events
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are: 
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, business, journalism or related field 
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Overtime expects the base salary for this position to be $110-115K, in addition to benefits, paid time off, and equity in the company.
