I am a recent college graduate with a degree in sports studies from Central Michigan University. My question is a two part question: What kind of jobs are gonna be right for me when all i have to go on is a couple of team manager spots with the basketball and baseball teams at school and do you think subscribing to the online job sites like Pbeo or Taz are worth the money?

Here's my strategy for you. Go online and try to find all of the sports teams and sports agencies in about a 100 mile radius of your home. Sign up for job fairs such as Detroit Pistons or Cleveland Cavaliers. Look online with us and do some scouring on the internet to get names and addresses and telephone numbers of any sports organization within that radius. Make contact with everyone who has graduated from your college in sports or athletics, everyone who worked for the same companies you did, and anyone and everyone who has had anything to do with sports in your local community. Then I suggest that you go door to door and try to sell yourself to someone who is a referral of an alumni or friend of a friend or even the person at the front desk for any kind of a job ? whether it is food service or front office or something that can at least pay minimum wage. Look at recreational centers, country clubs, health and fitness centers, tennis clubs and non-profits who run events. Get out and meet people, particularly those stuck inside in this horrible weather. Look professional, bring resumes, drop them off, collect business cards and thank people after the fact by email or a person note. Go out and meet people.
