Athletic Director, Overtime Elite 
Overtime Elite is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Athletic Director who will be tasked with operational leadership across Overtime Elite’s Basketball Operations department. This individual will be responsible for people, process, and operational management of the function. The ideal candidate will be adept at overseeing all aspects of the Basketball department's operational requirements while ensuring efficient and cost-effective processes are implemented across travel, scheduling, and logistics for teams and staff.

What You’ll Do:
Leadership and Team Development:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to athletic department staff and coaches, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance staff proficiency in project management, innovation, etc.  
  • Foster positive relationships with coaches, administrators, and external stakeholders to promote collaboration and support the overall mission of Overtime Elite.

League Administration:
  • Support the signing of new Overtime Elite players as they are scouted and recruited
  • Contribute to the evolution of our league’s structure, teams, and gameplay 
  • Oversee the selection of vendors, including Referees, Analytics, Video, and related functions 

Logistics & Operations:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive travel policies and procedures to streamline team travel and align to budgetary goals. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for travel-related inquiries and emergencies, providing timely assistance and support to coaches, athletes, and staff.
  • Evaluate league schedule, looking for opportunities to align travel and league gameplay to the best outcomes 

Budget Management:
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the annual Basketball department budget in collaboration with relevant coaches, admins, and staff.
  • Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts to track expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Work closely with coaches and staff to allocate funds effectively, prioritizing key areas for player development, wellness and safety. 

Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA & relevant governing body regulations regarding all player programs and policies.
  • Collaborate with the compliance office to maintain accurate reporting and documentation related to expenditures, academic records, and player status. 
  • Work closely with the leadership of the Academic and Player Services department to ensure alignment across functions   

Who You Are: 
  • Must have experience in leadership and management within sports, such as running an athletic department at a college or leading a function of a professional sports team
  • Experience from outside of sports to complement the basketball operations department
  • Deep understanding of basketball landscapes across HS, College, grassroots, international, and professional levels
  • Strong point of view on what it takes to build a successful organization 
  • Strong financial acumen and proficiency in budget planning, analysis, and reporting. Budgeting experience at a department-wide level is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA or relevant governing body regulations pertaining to athletic department finances and travel policies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
