 JOB SUMMARY:
The Florida Everblades Hockey Club of the ECHL are offering an opportunity to college students looking to gain real-world broadcasting, media relations & communications experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. The ideal candidate would be experienced in broadcasting, available to work between 20-25 hours a week during regular office hours, and required to attend all home games (in-person) & away games (remote work). 

FUNCTIONS:
The Broadcasting, Communications & Media Relations Intern will be responsible for several key functions of the Florida Everblades Hockey Club's day-to-day and game operations. Assisting the Executive Vice President and department staff, this role will be responsible for broadcasting all Everblades away games, pre-game and post-game content, and more.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in broadcasting work for all Everblades away games remotely. 
  • Assist in operating website, social media platforms, team app, and other programs to fulfill daily responsibilities. 
  •  Assist in the creation of all home and away game highlights.
  • Write feature articles & create video content to be published on the Everblades website and other online platforms.
  • Compile game notes, bios, game previews, game recaps, and statistical packages for all personnel needed and communication channels following league requirements & guidelines.
  • Assist in media interactions with team members including setting up our live post-game press conference with media members, players, and coaching staff which follows each home game.
  • Assist in game night operations of the press box before & during all Everblades home games. 
  • Archive/ track all media coverage as it relates to our team.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by the department personnel. 

Desired Qualifications:
  • Broadcasting experience is required.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and eligible for college credit.
  • Interested in pursuing a career in sports journalism.
  • Available 20-25 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and game days.
  • Demonstrated writing and grammar proficiency in AP Style.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment and in media work zones.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) & Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Photoshop) 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with Ice Hockey (preferred but not required)
  • Flexibility in terms of handling a variety of assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on branding, consistency and quality.
