General Summary:
Responsible for handling all Green Bay Gamblers equipment related matters. Coordinates the entire equipment area and manages inventory, cleaning, laundering and maintenance of equipment. Serves as a key member of the Gamblers hockey operations staff.
Job Functions:
- Demonstrates and embodies the PMI Entertainment Group Culture and Customer Service values.
- Oversees ordering and inventory management of all equipment and player/coach apparel, keeping a detailed inventory in each equipment category (helmets, sticks, etc.).
- Manages hockey equipment and player/coach apparel budgets, maintaining a detailed equipment budget and sending updates to the Gamblers President.
- Serves as team’s main point of contact with team equipment/apparel providers.
- Manages the appearance of the team’s locker room, player lounge and equipment rooms, ensuring consistent cleanliness.
- Prepares for all practices and games including laundry, skate sharpening, sewing and other player and team equipment needs.
- Purchases necessary locker room/lounge supplies and cleaning supplies.
- Serves as a liaison with visiting team’s equipment manager and coaching staff.
- Assists with road trip itineraries and needs including load-in time, dressing room availability, laundry, and other necessities.
- Communicates with front office staff for all jersey/equipment requests for charity auctions, media obligations, and community events.
- Follows all USHL game night requirements for home and visiting teams and officials.
- Attends all team practices, home, and road games, and select community events as determined by the Gamblers Head Coach, which will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Responsible for following, observing, and participating in all company related safety programs, procedures, and training as well as reporting potentially unsafe conditions.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Gamblers President and Gamblers Head Coach.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Minimum of one year of successful equipment management in sports or related industry including skate sharpening, sewing, and a familiarity with the needs of hockey players and coaches.
- Preferred background in hockey.
- Must have the knowledge and ability to make effective equipment modifications.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of company personnel, outside coaches, and players when discussing the team’s needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling many tasks at once.
- Excellent time management skills are crucial.
- Must be an excellent multi-tasker and self-starter.
- Must have patience and strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel).
- Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending, or reaching for extensive periods of time.
- Full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity to operate equipment.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, which will include days, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to travel with team when necessary to attend games outside of the home arena.
