General Statement of Duties:
This position is responsible for all financial activity of the venue including financial management and control, accounting and bookkeeping, internal auditing, purchasing, payroll, and other general financial duties.  This position will also develop, install, and monitor controls established to safeguard assets and properly record revenues and expenditures according to GAAP.
 
Areas of Responsibility:
1.     To supervise the accounting staff.
2.     To gain a complete understanding of all event contracts and the effect of the  contracts on the show settlements. 
3.     Review daily accounting activity and ensure GAAP compliance.
4.     Prepare a projection of operations on a monthly basis. 
5.     To ensure proper completion of the monthly financial statements and other information with appropriate supporting schedules, and to ensure timely reports to management.
6.     To serve as the primary compiler and assist the general manager director in preparation of the annual operation budget.  To obtain line-item detail from the heads of other departments.
7.     Prepare event settlement worksheets.
8.     To serve as the primary point of contact for human resources, benefits, and payroll. 
9.     Directs the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
10.  Monitors and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as needed.
11.  To complete all management and financial duties as assigned by the general manager.
 
Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices.  
  2. Three to five years experience in public and private accounting desired.  
  3. Previous accounting experience in a similar arena or theater setting helpful.  
  4. A degree in accounting, CPA preferred, and strong computer skills including general ledger packages, and Excel required.  
  5. Must be able to work extended hours for events scheduled on nights, weekends, and holidays.  
  6. Strong communication skills are required.
