Who are we hiring?
As the Manager, Business Operations, your role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Kansas City Current. As support to the President, you will play a key role in driving growth, improving processes, and optimizing resources to achieve organizational goals. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a high degree of professionalism. The ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment is also essential.
 
What will you do?
  • Administration: Coordinate and manage calendar for President to optimize and prioritize schedule
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement business strategies and goals. Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Partner with CFO in assisting department leads with budgeting process and ensure that financial resources are allocated effectively. Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities. 
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for optimization. Develop and implement new procedures and systems to enhance productivity and streamline operations. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Performance Tracking: Assist the President and executive team with establishment of objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure the success of operational activities. Monitor OKRs and develop reports to track progress. Identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments and teams. Coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth execution of business operations. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Seek opportunities to implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness.

What do you need to succeed?
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience managing a wide range of tasks and projects
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues
  • Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening
  • Able to give and receive feedback and constructive criticism from a variety of channels
  • Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • Three to five years of experience in project management or strategic planning, with a preferred background in sports
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Special requirements of the Job:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts), and holidays
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives
  • Travel may be required
