Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Director of Accounting/Controller to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and providing insights to support strategic decisions. This role requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Director of Accounting/Controller will report directly to our VP of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and variance analysis to support decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze key financial metrics and KPIs, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, including the development of financial models.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Coordinate and manage audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Support the VP of Finance in strategic financial planning and reporting.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in the entertainment or sports industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, (IFRS a plus).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP) and Microsoft Excel (Salesforce a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in building a team to match company growth.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $145,000 - $165,000/year
