In the role as Staff Accountant you will help our team bring the next round of stories to life on the United Center campus.

The staff accountant will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data and reporting packages. The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist in the monthly closing process by preparing accurate accruals and general journal entries including cash receipts, prepaid expenses, and event and team settlement entries.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations including cash, receivable billings & collections, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities, researching and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist with credit card expenditures processing and our employee expense reporting.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable invoice processing.
  • Perform financial research and analyses as requested.
  • Assist in reporting to various tax authorities.
  • Prepare and perform event settlements for events at the United Center.
  • Serve as a resource to other team members and managers both within and outside the Finance Department.
  • Ability to work evenings, or holidays as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills are a key requirement.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technologically-savvy, with strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position with the organization.
