Comcast Spectacor oversees the Wells Fargo Center and its major transformation project, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia Wings lacrosse team, the Maine Mariners hockey team, the Flyers Training Center, the Seoul Infernos OWL team, and Spectacor Events and Entertainment, a growing live events business that has already brought successful, new events to the Philadelphia area. Comcast Spectacor is headquartered at the Wells Fargo Center (WFC) in Philadelphia, PA. The WFC, the 4th most highly attended arena nationally and 7th most attended in the world is home to 270+ events per year, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Wings, Villanova, concerts, and events. Comcast Spectacor is a wholly owned subsidiary of Comcast and maintains connected and disconnected networks within the Wells Fargo Center.

Job Summary

The Philadelphia Wings are seeking an outgoing, and energetic individual to represent the team as “Wingston” while simultaneously serving as the internal lead on our school & community programs with a focus on maximizing ticket revenues from these channels. The Philadelphia Wings Mascot will engage with members of the public to promote the sport of lacrosse and create a memorable experience for fans.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform at all home games including pre-season, regular season and post-season.
  • Perform at community events scheduled through the marketing department.
  • Assist in maintaining mascot costume and communicate any needs to the director.
  • Interact with all fans and patrons you encounter.
  • Assist with planning mascot activities at home games.
  • Work with the Director of Lacrosse & Community Operations to plan, schedule, and execute school programs, acting as the primary point of contact for schools.
  • Coordinate and manage the communication with school administrators, teachers, and parents to ensure maximum ticket redemption.
  • Oversee the Donation Request process, reviewing requests from nonprofits and identifying opportunities for monetization via fundraiser tickets and other group sales options.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous mascot experience is required.
  • Due to costume restrictions, candidate must be between 5’7” – 5’11” and be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a knowledge of lacrosse and basic lacrosse skills.
