Overview

The Bartender responsibly serves beverages in moderate amounts, not to promote overindulgence or advocate any action that could cause Guests to become intoxicated. Also takes guest orders, delivers food, and maintains the bar seating area by bussing and cleaning. Additionally, a bartender is responsible for the billing and payment processing of the Guests that they serve. This role will pay

This role will pay an hourly rate between $2.83 plus tips

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests in a friendly professional manner
  • Provide education about Chickie’s style of service, the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used, and the different cooking methods
  • Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
  • Follow all Chickie’s & Pete’s service standards including upselling and suggestive selling
  • Inform Guests of daily drink & food specials
  • Prepare garnishes for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Wash and sterilize glassware
  • Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar
  • Check identification to ensure that guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Refuse/cut off service to patrons who appear to be intoxicated
  • Receive guest payments and process transactions
  • Respond appropriately to guest complaints and bring any issues to the attention of a manager
  • Perform marketing and other promotional services as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar: counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the General Manager
  • Assist with restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
  • Thank guests for their visit, inform them of upcoming events and invite them to return
  • Understand the importance of speed of service and act with sense of urgency when performing job tasks
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings
  • Empty trash cans
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed by management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be 18 or over.
  • 2 years or more experience bartending
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to learn to operate a cash register and corresponding system accurately.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate and RAMP certification if required by state and federal regulations (or be willing to obtain one within a 60 day time-frame from date of hire).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, management staff, volunteers and guests.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, some holidays and long hours.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
