Overview

The OVG Communications intern will be responsible for supporting two VPs of Communications with tasks related to publicity, media relations, partner relations, internal communications, research, media monitoring and more. 

 

OVG communications interns have exposure to many areas of the company with insights into new business announcements, partnership agreements, venue development projects and more. The candidate must be professional, discreet, and trustworthy as they will have access to all levels of company leadership as well as confidential, non-public information. The candidate will get hands-on experience working on behalf of internal clients, promoting the activities and messages of OVG venues and services.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $20.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will support the team with out of the box ideas and responsibilities will include verbal and written communications on behalf of teams across OVG, including global partnerships, venue management, hospitality, sustainability, diversity, equity & inclusion, technology, security and more. 

Qualifications

  • The position requires strong writing skills and comfortability with feedback.
  • The candidate will gain experience drafting and editing press releases, talking points, pitch documents, media alerts, email blasts, PowerPoint presentations and more.
  • A primary responsibility of the communications intern will include research necessary to support clients across the company. This includes research for editorial calendars, targeted journalists and outlets, industry awards and more resulting in planning calendars, press lists, coverage reports, etc.
  • The OVG communications intern will also provide support for events (lists, invitations) and site updates (Treehouse, Sharepoint), and will provide light administrative support including meeting scheduling and project tracking.
