Overview

The Concessions Supervisor will assist the Concessions Director, Concessions Manager and Warehouse Manager with the overall management of all OVG-managed athletic venue concessions operations including inventory controls, product ordering, employee training, point of sale controls, compliance with alcohol and food service policies, cleaning, safety, guest service, product stocking, troubleshooting, event operational support, opening and/or closing duties, food preparation and production, and any other tasks assigned by the Concessions Director or Concessions Manager. The Concessions Supervisor must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth operation of the venue and Concessions department. 

 

The Concessions Supervisor will assist in supervision of employees. The Concessions Supervisor must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule including evenings and weekends. Flexible availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, strong technical aptitude are required.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $24 to $26.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising all part-time concessions workers & non-profit organizations.
  • Ensure proper set-up of all concessions locations prior to event doors. Setup duties include but are not limited to: verifying opening inventory, ensuring sanitation standards are met, verifying each location is fully operational. 
  • Provide oversight and operational expertise resulting in the smooth execution of events.
  • Work with Marketing staff on concessions-related event promotions.
  • Ability to oversee a large volume of inventory and manage high volume sales.
  • Supervise and run all venue concessions operations before, during, and after the event, as needed. 
  • Willing to cover or back-up any open position to assure location is fully operational.
  • Provide direction and oversight to all concessions staff as needed. Ensure that all State & Federal policies, procedures and practices are adhered to, including compliance with alcohol distribution/service of food handling/sanitation guidelines, general safety policies and procedures.
  • Report any alcohol service or other compliance issues to Concessions Director & Concessions Manager immediately. 
  • Assist with post-event evaluations, data compilation, tracking of monetary and product shortages, generating reports. 
  • Assist in the research and testing of new products and recipes; identify products to grow business.
  • Assist Warehouse Manager in stocking, ordering, tracking product.
  • Receive new inventory and inspect products for quality.
  • Ability to obtain working knowledge of all existing concessions locations.

Qualifications

  • At Least 1-2 years’ experience working in a supervisory capacity in a food & beverage environment.
  • Ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory
