Overview

As a Host/Hostess you should have experience with Upscale Dining service, as well as excellent knowledge of the NYC food and drink scene. Weekend availability is non-negotiable.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $10.00. 

 

Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
  • Manage reservations and seating assignments efficiently.
  • Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and ensuring a smooth transition to servers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
  • Communicate effectively with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate table seating and optimize guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with professionalism.
  • Assist with special events or private dining arrangements as needed.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe dining environment.
  • Support teamwork by assisting colleagues during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Friendly and outgoing personality with a passion for customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse guests.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of basic restaurant operations and reservations systems is a plus.
