Overview
The Ice Rink Attendant utilizes a cash register and accepts payment. Will perform light cleaning and janitorial duties. Will perform other roles around the rink as assigned; Public Skate Attendant, Skate Rental Room Attendant.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $15
Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.
This position will remain open until September 30, 2024
Responsibilities
- Opens cash register and performs cash handling to the requirements of Rink cash handling procedures, keeps accurate records on Tally Sheet and closes register properly
- Responsible for all Rink monetary transactions during assigned shift
- Acts as representative for the Mullins Community Ice Rink to the general public, must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Ice Rink including schedule, prices, procedures, and programs offered
- Deals knowledgably, pleasantly and professionally with the general public on the telephone and in person
- Responsible for patron safety and relations in the Upstairs Lobby area and other areas as assigned
- Performs duties of cashier during public events, must be able to maintain composure and cash register accuracy during busy events, keeps an accurate cash tally and perform shift-end deposits accurately
- Performs housekeeping and light janitorial duties, responsibilities include keeping reception area clean and orderly and assists Resurfacer Operator in cleaning Locker Rooms, areas around ice, and bleachers when needed
- Opens and closes Rink as needed
- Performs light clerical duties as needed
- Works as Skate Room Attendant and Skate Guard as assigned for Public and Private Skating events
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisors or rink management
Requirements
- Must be punctual and organized. Must be able to follow procedures
- Ability to work without supervision and handle difficult situations
- Must have excellent customer relations skills
- Must have excellent telephone manners and the ability to take notes accurately
- Must keep accurate sales records and be able to maintain accurate cash counts
- Ice rink working experience a plus
- Previous cash handling experience a plus
- Skating experience a plus
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be 18 or over
- Previous cash handling experience preferred.
- Ability to learn to handle cash and learn to operate a cash register and corresponding system
- Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests.
