Overview

FALL Internship is a minimum of 12 up to 24 hours on average per week, and varies subject to event driven scheduling
Do you want to supplement your education with actual hands-on experience in an environment where you will face new challenges every day? Our multi-venue event complex is looking for new student interns who actively want to help drive improvements and assist our business by providing support to develop the tools to deploy against the challenges we face. Every day offers new, exciting challenges. Some days you might be expected to perform tactical/routine work, while at other times you will have a chance to support events behind the scenes to see what really goes into those concerts or activities you have read about, or possibly attended. This role will pay an hourly wage of $12.

 

Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision and based on projects assigned, the Intern will have the opportunity to learn or improve skills related to:

  • Testing, tracing, maintenance, and repair of wired data runs
  • Mass deployment of new computers to staff
    • Imaging new PCs and prepping for deployment
  • Project & time management
    • Intern will be working with staff regularly on a number of items but will also have self-managed projects to complete
  • IT closet maintenance
    • Intern will be tidying and stocking each closet with appropriate equipment
  • Inventory control
    • Keep track of old equipment being replaced and new equipment being deployed
    • Ensure inventory is maintained and accurate
  • Asset Documentation
    • Create floor maps of data connections in relation to IT closets
  • Digital signage creation/scheduling
  • There will be various soft-skill training opportunities, along with group interactions and projects with other local and national interns.
  • Interns should be able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Required:
• Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field

• Junior or Senior preferred, potential to consider sophomore level

• Willing to commit to the intern position for three to four months, with the possibility of a longer opportunity available
• Willing to learn and get hands-on experience
• Able to commit at least 12 hours a week to be physically present at the facility
