We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Food and Beverage Lead Captain to oversee our dining operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food and beverage service procedures, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Food and Beverage Lead Captain will coordinate daily operations, train and supervise staff, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain inventory levels. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $28.85.

Responsibilities

  • Organize BEO instructions into a clear summary of event activities to be presented to staff

  • Oversee all banquet opertions of events from set up to breakdown

  • Utilize strong organizational skills to handle a diverse range of duties, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities and workloads

  • Responsible for overseeing the delegation of duties to ensure smooth operations and effective team performance

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the menu items, including descriptions, ingredients, and preparation methods, to effectively assist and advise customers

  • Must be able to work and lead a team independently without active management oversight

  • Conduct regular daily stand-up meetings discussing the day’s events and shift assignments with captains, servers and bartenders

  • Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, hygiene, and presentation.

  • Train, supervise, and motivate staff in accordance with the LEC Standards of Service Manual

  • Responsible for making menu signs and cards as needed

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Windows

  • Assist Food and Beverage Manger with scheduling as needed

  • Attend weekly collaboration meetings

  • Ensure that all end of shift reports are filled out accurately

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients

  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 - 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
