Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing and maintaining payroll data with an understanding of union and non-union payrolls. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor, review time records for accuracy and create payroll file from Payroll System
    • Process payroll file for union and non-union employees using ADP EV5 Payroll Systems
    • Oversee employee records, wages, including timekeeping (Sick/ PTO) and deductions.
    • Process and maintain approved employee direct deposits, tax withholding and benefit changes in ADP EV5 Payroll Systems
    • Process off-cycle payroll checks and reissue checks for direct deposit or payroll check return as needed.
    • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
    • Review Payroll inbox and respond to employee inquiries/ discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
    • Assist with payroll benefits and union compliance.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local and union regulations.
    • Generate reports from the payroll system for management and finance departments.
    • Post weekly and bi-weekly payrolls into accounting system.
    • Reconcile various payroll related GL accounts at month-end.

Qualifications

  •  Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 2 years payroll processing in a large, multi-state environment
    • Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills
    • Consistent and strong organizational skills, reliable attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality.
