Chief Operating Officer (CRO) for Staten Island Entertainment (SIE).  SIE owns the Staten Island FerryHawks, a professional baseball team in the Atlantic League, and also operates Staten Island University Hospital Community Park (best view in sports!) as a year round entertainment venue.  The organization just completed its third year of operations and is looking for COO to oversee all aspects of organization activities including baseball and non baseball business. 
 
The Chief Operating Officer is a new position for the organization and will report directly to ownership.  The COO will be responsible for overseeing all revenue generating departments, including ticket, sponsorship sales, outside events and marketing strategy, business planning and overall operations.
 
We are looking for a strong, entrepreneurial leader with sales and management experience, business development and revenue generating experience and can implement revenue development and sales tracking systems.  Sports experience is not required.
 
Candidate will oversee and align various business revenue generating aspects such as ticket sales, sponsorship and outside event income and coordinate those with other aspects of the business including marketing and branding.  Candidate will also oversee all operations of organization.
 
Candidate will develop strategic growth plans and develop ideas for new revenue generating lines of business with emphasis on non-baseball entertainment events.
 
Candidate will generate regular revenue reports and forecasting models for ownership.
 
  • Work with ownership to oversee day to day operations, strategy and leadership of front office and revenue generating departments.
  • Work with senior revenue staff to prospect and cultivate new sales leads.
  • Work with senior revenue staff to develop business and sales strategies to increase revenue.
  • Establish and track weekly, monthly, and yearly sales goals in reporting systems for ownership.
  • Remain well-connected with sponsors and clients to ensure needs are being met and to encourage retention and growth.  
  • Oversee all aspects of organization beyond revenue including marketing, community engagement and finance oversight.
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in business, sales, marketing, sport management or similar area.
  • Multiple years of management experience and a track record in developing and generating ticket, sponsorship and outside event revenues.
  • A history of sales success and the ability to build and lead a sales driven and customer focused organization
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Experience overseeing financial reports and budgets
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to interact effectively and comfortably with clients at all levels of an organization 
  • Disciplined self-starter and highly motivated individual 

Note: This is a salaried position with the opportunity to also receive commissions and bonuses. Hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays but sports and venue CRO is not a traditional position with traditional hours.  Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required
