About Us
Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is in Jupiter, Florida and is the Spring Training home to the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins. Opened in 1998, the complex includes a stadium, batting cages, 12 full-size and 2 half-sized baseball fields, as well as the surrounding landscape areas. 

The Role
We are seeking a highly qualified, energetic, professional that will manage our fleet of equipment and shop areas used in operation of these facilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Mechanic/Shop Manager will report to the Director of Grounds and Facilities. This position is a working management position that will require active involvement in day-to-day maintenance of all field equipment. 
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects/failures in equipment including but not limited to, diesel, electric and gasoline-powered mowers, utility carts, tractors, and other equipment used to maintain the facility. 
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform general overhaul and rebuild on various diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered equipment. 
  • Inspect and adjust reel mowers daily and perform field inspection of equipment to ensure that it is working properly. 
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedule and perform timely periodic maintenance and repairs to minimize equipment down time. 
  • Input, update, and track the status of all maintenance records, repair work orders, parts usage and reordering to maintain accountability for all work performed. 
  • Comply with OSHA safety standards and help ensure staff compliance. 
  • Clean and maintain shop areas and ensure the proper care and storage of all tools. 
  • Respond to emergency repair situations as needed. 
  • Be available to work weekends, some holidays, and extended hours when necessary. 
  • Other duties related to facility maintenance as assigned by the Director of Grounds and Facilities. 

Qualifications
  • 3–5 years’ experience maintaining a fleet of golf or sports turf equipment. 
  • Experience maintaining reel mowers required. 
  • Experience operating reel and bed knife grinders preferred. 
  • Valid driver's license required. 
  • Passing of drug screening and background check required.

Requirements of the job
  • Ability to lift/move/carry items weighing up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis. 
  • Ability to lift/move items weighing up to 75 lbs. on an occasional basis. 
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in small, cramped areas for prolonged periods to make equipment repairs. 
  • Requires the ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
