The Tri-City Chili Peppers are looking for an outgoing and animated performer to join our organization as a part-time mascot performer for community events this fall, spring 2025 and home games during the 2025 summer season.
The Chili Peppers are the HOTTEST team in the Coastal Plain League, a summer wood-bat baseball league with teams in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. As the innovators of Cosmic Baseball, our team plays from mid-May through early August with over 30+ home games at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, VA. We employ a small full-time staff so part-time seasonal employees and interns will perform integral duties and gain valuable professional experience and knowledge.
Job Summary:
As a Chili Peppers mascot, you will be expected to be enthusiastic and energetic when performing so that interactions with fans is positive and fun experience that emphasizes our party like culture and environment. Examples of community events could be little league opening festivities, parades, county fairs, non-profit fundraising events, health care/hospital visits, school events, and more. In addition, you will be expected to perform for Chili Peppers marketing and social media videos or pose for photos. At home games during the 2025 summer, mascot performers are typically at the stadium prior to gates opening so they can greet fans as they enter and then perform during various innings with the entertainment and engagement team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform at community events and home games
- Participate in skits and routines with the fan entertainment and engagement team
- Be mindful of care for the mascot outfits to ensure they are not damaged
- Act as mascot handler and guide if another performer is in the outfit and needs assistance
Qualifications:
- Have reliable transportation to the event/game you are performing at
- Previous experience with dancing and/or acting is preferred
- Previous experience working with children is helpful
- Out-going, animated and energetic
- Flexibility to perform during the day or evening during the week or weekend
- Must be punctual and arrive for performance shifts on time
- Capable of working in warm conditions (whether due to the outside temperature or the heat in the mascot outfit)
- Be in good physical condition so you can walk around, dance, and be animated for long periods of time
- To fit in the mascot outfits, candidates should be between 5'8-6' tall or 5'3-5'8
- Already reside in the Richmond, VA metro area
This part-time position is paid $30 per appearance.
