Administration/General Management: General Management/Profit & Loss
 The General Manager is responsible for management of all sales revenue lines for the team. The GM is accountable for developing new revenue streams while ensuring the renewal and maintenance of current revenue streams remain consistent on a yearly basis. Most importantly, the GM is the leader of the team and staff and is expected to create an environment of excellence for his or her internal staff and the team’s patrons/customers.

There are five main components (listed below) that determine the financial success of the operations. The General Manager’s main responsibility is to oversee all revenue streams by utilizing the human and capital resources to achieve them:
  • Ticket Sales
  • Sponsorships
  • Stadium Events and Rentals
  • Food and Beverage
  • Merchandise

Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to the President/Owner
  • Ability to develop and manage an operating budget
  • Superior communication skills and exceptional customer service
  • Strong sales skills and the ability to lead a sales & customer service organization
  • Oversee all sales related to stadium events and rentals
  • Manage a full-time staff, including hiring, training, and professional development of existing and incoming staff members
  • Lead sales and marketing efforts for all ticket sales, group sales, sponsorships, promotions and merchandise
  • Oversee all finances including day-to-day bookkeeping, budgeting, reports, etc.
  • Develop relationships within the community with key members, constituents, and business leaders
  • Work closely with the coaching staff for travel, hotels, equipment, budgeting, etc.
  • Oversee the management of the set up/break down of game day events
  • Work all Otters home games and stadium events
  • Act as the primary liaison and communicate effectively with ownership and the league office
  • Understand company goals and continue to build the business
  • Perform additional duties as needed

Requirements:
  • Candidates preferred to have previous experience with operations and managing a sports team, preferably within Summer Collegiate, Minor League or Independent Leagues or a professional sports organization
  • Must be quick-thinking and be able to work with a wide variety of personalities.
  • Ability to work flexible and demanding hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative with projects and events
  • Have an exceptional customer service aptitude and be a committed team player
  • Required to work long hours standing and walking around
  • Sitting, standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, or crouching are all a part of the position
  • Must be able to handle weather related elements such as rain and heat
