The Florence Y’alls intern program is intended for individuals with a strong desire to gain real-world work experience, as well as a desire to work hard and give their best. Learning potential is endless with these positions and individuals get as much out of the experience as what they put into it.
Summary
Special Events Intern: The Florence Y’alls are looking for special events interns to help lead the charge on our second annual holiday lights event at the baseball stadium. This position will give you the opportunity to learn the process of executing an event from start to finish. This position will require working nights and weekends, as the event is held during these times. Applicants must be able to work during the special events busy season (November through January), both in the office during the day and at the event at night.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Help plan and budget for our signature holiday lights event
- Work alongside clients from start to finish
- Assist in the permitting process
- Make sales calls and inquire about potential sponsors, vendors, etc
- Take on set up responsibilities for our signature holiday lights event
- Work on Social Media and Marketing
Qualifications:
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong organization skills
- Strong work ethic
· Requires the ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
· Ability to work as a team player
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to do voucher drop offs, hand out flyers, etc.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting and working around the ballpark. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Time Demands
The special event intern program is from October 1st 2024 – January 31st 2025. Interns will be expected to help set up before the event begins, assist in running the event and execute in all clean up efforts.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role will include the usage of power tools, setting up lights, etc.
Travel
Periodic travel locally is expected for this role
