Summary/Objective

The Manager, Facilities (Engineering) is responsible for CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches physical plant, ensuring the optimal functioning of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, elevator and other services. The Manager will perform and/or oversee preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on HVAC, electrical, fire/life equipment, stadium sound, scoreboard, lighting, IT infrastructure, pool/spa and other systems. This position will be responsible for identifying and selecting qualified vendors; preparing and administering service contracts; and managing maintenance projects and repairs. Manager should have the ability to perform the installation, repair and operation where required/possible.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • HVAC maintenance and repair.
  • Selection and oversight of electricians and electrical projects.
  • Plans, organizes and executes proper maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, fire/life equipment and systems, and elevators.
  • Establishes effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure issues are identified and resolved effectively.
  • Ensures that preventive maintenance procedures are carried out on a scheduled basis and completes maintenance records for all equipment.
  • Recommends replacement of equipment whenever necessary and evaluates new equipment for its durability and values.
  • Ensures functionality of electronic systems on fields, including scoreboards and press box.
  • Perform a wide variety of work tasks, including but not limited to, concrete repair, fence repair, floor repair, wall/drywall repair, ceiling repair, door repair, caulking, welding, hanging signs/banners, painting, lighting, cleaning, pressure washing, etc.
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections of all assigned areas.
  • Maintains records of completed maintenance and repair work.
  • Attends regular meetings with Assistant GM – Ballpark Operations and other key staff to prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Assists with the preparation of the annual department budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and/or Experience & Skills

Required

  • Associate degree in construction technology or related field.
  • Facilities engineer experience (5 years) in stadium, office or commercial building.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions involved with the maintenance, repair, and operation of buildings, grounds, and operating systems.
  • Contributes to a motivating, rewarding, and productive work culture that promotes continuous learning.
  • Ability to effectively interact with staff, tenants, department heads and officials, the public, and contract services providers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Responsible, organized and detail oriented.
  • Must pass criminal background check.

Preferred

  • Experience with iPaaS solutions (e.g., Informatica Cloud)
  • Experience with Azure environment/toolsets (e.g., blob storage, SQL DW)
  • Experience executing an ELT model for cloud data warehousing
  • Familiarity with utilizing data from REST APIs and Amazon S3
  • Experience with visualization toolsets (e.g., PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau)

 

Work Environment

This job operates both in an outdoor and office setting depending on the nature of work. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. 

 

Physical Demands

Work requires sufficient physical strength, agility, endurance, dexterity and hand-eye-foot coordination to perform all essential duties. Work requires sitting for long periods of time, standing and walking, and kneeling, crawling, bending, climbing stairs and ladders. Work may expose the employee to potential severe weather, chemical hazards, biological hazards; and physical hazards. Work requires the use of safety clothing and equipment, and compliance with safety rules and procedures, as needed.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays. May be called after regular working hours to respond to emergency maintenance and repair needs.

 

Travel

Rare travel may be expected for this position.
