Communications/Community Relations: Community Relations
  • Serve as a representative for the team at community events and ensure the Nashville Sounds have a significant presence at local events
  • Create and cultivate partnerships with local nonprofits, public schools, private schools and colleges/universities in the Nashville/Middle Tennessee area
  •  Work directly with the Director of Marketing to develop and implement all club Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives
  • Utilize baseball to positively impact communities throughout Middle Tennessee through Pop Up baseball, field renovations and promote baseball education to youth 
  • Oversee all fundraising programs including donated tickets, Charity of the Game, Hit City Hero Program; develop new ways for nonprofits to fundraise utilizing the ballpark
  • Plan and implement any in game activation for community related programming along with the Entertainment and Promotions Manager and Group Theme Coordinator, including but not limited to Copa de la Diversion, The Nine, Play Ball Weekend, Pride Night, etc. 
  • Collaborate with departments for fundraising initiatives and to ensure all contractual community related activations are completed
  • Assist in managing mascot appearances, community events and serve as the handler for the mascot for public appearances
  • Coordinate all speaking engagements for the leadership team; plan and implement staff volunteer opportunities
  • Coordinate community player appearances and provide transportation to and from events; organize autograph sessions with players on select game days
  • Oversee the donation request data base and complete donation requests in a timely manner; track all donations including financial contributions and in-kind donations
  • Manage the reporting system for Minor League Baseball for all charitable activities and implement all league wide community initiatives from MLB

Skills & Requirements: 
  • Strong problem solving, attention to detail, execution, management and customer service skills with the ability to identify and develop relationships with potential clients and vendors
  • Initiative to seek out relationships within Middle Tennessee to build connections that are beneficial to the Nashville Sounds Foundation and Nashville community 
  • Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills with ability to build collaborative partnerships
  • At least 1 year of experience is preferred in community outreach or the nonprofit sector
  • Good time-management skills with the ability to multitask various projects and deadlines
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Other duties as assigned
This position reports to the Director of Marketing. Interviews for this role will begin until after October 1.
