Little League® International Legal Internship – Summer 2025

Little League® International of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is seeking a qualified student to join Little League’s Legal/Risk Management team for the summer of 2025, reporting to the SVP, Chief Legal Officer. The internship will run from approximately June to August with flexibility in start and end date. The intern will typically follow normal business hours, Monday – Friday and earns $18-20 per hour depending on year in law school.

Acceptance into the internship is contingent on all applicable background checks. The candidate must be a minimum first-year law student or above enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school that will have successfully completed their first year when they start the internship.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LEGAL INTERN AT LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL

Our internship program provides a hands-on learning experience with one of the world’s most visible sporting events. It provides behind-the-scenes access to the inner workings of the Legal/Risk Management department in a global sports organization. The Legal Intern will work with the SVP, Chief Legal Officer in conducting legal research and analysis across a variety of areas of the law, assist with discovery and litigation support, reviewing and updating policies and procedures, manage and organize legal files, summarize various legal documents, and other daily tasks as assigned. 

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

•Participates in supervised practical training and provides support to the Legal/Risk Management Department.

•Drafts, reviews, and analyzes a variety of contracts, letters, and memoranda.

•Conducts legal research and analysis across a variety of areas of the law including contract, intellectual property, insurance, real estate, employment, marketing, and litigation.

•Assists with discovery and litigation support.

•Assists with monitoring and providing protection to our trademarks. 

•Reviews and updates policies and procedures.

•Assists with preparing reports and presentations related to legal and risk management matters.

•Summarizes various legal documents, contract, and agreements.

•Manages and organizes legal files.

•Assists with various special projects and administrative tasks.

•Assists in all aspects of preparation for the 2025 Little League Baseball World Series. 

•Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and codes.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LEGAL INTERN:

•Applicants must currently be enrolled as a rising 2L student (or above) at an ABA-accredited law school and be in good standing during the duration of the internship period 

•Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks

•Analytical Skills

•Good Communication skills–verbal and written

•Effective time management skills and ability to work independently

•Attention to detail

•Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 

•Excellent research, writing, and communication skills 

•Excellent initiative and project management skills including prioritization and time management

•Proficiency in conducting online legal research with independent access to Lexis, WestLaw, Bloomberg, or other legal research services.

•Applicants must have good professional judgment, exercise discretion, and abide by confidentiality expectations.

•Candidate must be eligible to work in the US without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future to be considered for this role
