Corporate Sales Executive
The Corporate Sales Executive will join our successful Corporate Sales team and collaborate to grow our advertising & sponsorship revenue for The Cedar Rapids Ball Club Inc., which includes the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins affiliate) and the Waterloo Bucks (Northwoods League). The ideal candidate will be highly-motivated in the area of sales and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. They will also deliver a premium level of customer service to build and maintain strong relationships – internally and externally.

Reports to: Director of Corporate Sales 
  • This position is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with client meetings and job duties also in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area, and is not a remote position

Corporate Sales Duties:
  • Perform outbound sales efforts by using sales practices, including but not limited to, prospecting, networking, lead generation, referral gathering, proposals, face-to-face meetings
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing new prospects, cultivating new relationships, and maintaining relationships with renewal clients
  • Developing proposals and sponsorships to meet client needs with an emphasis on maximizing revenue  
  • Meet and exceed established weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals
  • Increase ticket sales by selling group outings, season tickets and other ticket packages
  • Continually create and implement unique sales strategies, ideas, and programs as a means of producing new business opportunities
  • Accurately and consistently enter all sales activity into company CRM system
  • Accurately forecast revenue projections and pending pipelines, update client contact info, etc.
  • Demonstrate and grow our “Excellence in all we do” credo by displaying the utmost in professionalism, compassion, and respect, and provide first-class customer service to our fans and clients
  • Contribute positively to the sales team culture by developing positive working relationships with all team members
  • Participate and contribute at sales meetings, training sessions and front office meetings
Sponsorship Fulfillment & Gameday Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with operations, ticket sales, marketing and entertainment departments to ensure that all aspects of our corporate partnerships are executed and fulfilled
  • Oversee the collection of proof of performance photos, screenshots and other documentation for end of season review with your clients
 
Experience, Skills & Education Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum one to three (1-3) years of related experience, preferably in an outbound B2B sales setting
  • Experience working in the sports industry is preferred
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an athletic sports environment and willing to put in the extended hours it takes to succeed, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving at a high level
  • Skilled in cultivating sales leads, account management, and sponsorship fulfillment
  • Ability to work in a team environment while having a competitive sales mentality to excel
  • Self-sufficient, pro-active, and solutions-oriented
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
  • Must function at a high level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects

Work Environment:
  • Office setting
  • Gameday hours during season: 9a through the game 
  • Non-gameday hours during season and in off-season: M-F, 9a-5p
  • Expected to work all Cedar Rapids Kernels home games during the season, including weekends & holidays, and occasional Waterloo Bucks home games
  • Client meetings will occur in the Cedar Rapids area and in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area
  • Expected to support and participate in non-baseball & other community events and promotions
  • Other duties as deemed necessary
