Thank you for your interest in an internship with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. It is our goal to provide you with hands-on experience and knowledge useful in competing for jobs in the baseball industry, beginning with Summer Collegiate Baseball.  We will also work with you to fulfill requirements for college credit if necessary.  Our internships are a great learning opportunity where previous experience is not always necessary. The Rafters are a part of the Northwoods League, a summer collegiate league located in the midwest. Each summer the Rafters host 36 games at Historic Witter Field and bring in over 35,000 fans through the gates.

Position Overview:
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Baseball organization is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Digital Marketing & Photography Intern to join our dynamic marketing team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and a focus on photography within the sports industry. The ideal candidate should be passionate about baseball, possess a strong visual eye, and have a keen interest in digital marketing strategies. This is no lazy summer internship! Key Responsibilities:
  1. Content Creation: Assist in creating engaging digital content, including graphics, images, videos, and other multimedia assets for use across various digital platforms (website, social media, email campaigns, etc.).
  2. Photography: Capture high-quality photographs of players, games, fans, staff and behind-the-scenes moments to showcase the team's activities and create a compelling visual narrative.
  3. Social Media Management: Contribute to the marketing management of the team's social media channels by scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and monitoring performance metrics.
  4. Email Marketing: Support the marketing manager in creation and execution of email marketing campaigns to keep fans informed about upcoming games, promotions, and special events.
  5. Digital Analytics: Assist in tracking and analyzing the performance of digital marketing efforts, providing insights to improve strategies and achieve marketing goals.
  6. Website Maintenance: Help update and maintain the team's website, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and visually appealing.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm creative ideas for campaigns and initiatives that align with the team's brand and objectives.
  8. Event Support: Provide assistance during game days and special events, including setting up photo opportunities and capturing moments for social media coverage.
  9. Sponsorship Integration: Ensure sponsorships and partner brand placements are integrated into digital content and photography in a seamless and authentic manner.
  10. Research and Trend Analysis: Stay informed about current digital marketing trends, social media best practices, and emerging technologies to suggest innovative ideas for the team's marketing efforts.
  11. This is not an all-inclusive list and you will be assigned additional team duties to ensure a positive fan experience, facilities cleanliness, and everyone’s safety.

Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Photography, or a related field.
  • Passion for baseball and a basic understanding of the sport, its culture, and the fanbase.
  • Proficiency in photography and photo editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and their content management tools.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills and an eye for compelling photography composition.
  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing principles and concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction from supervisors.
  • Possession of personal & professional photography equipment is mandatory.

Duration & Compensation:
This is a 3 month (Mid-May through Mid-August) summer internship position. Compensation and academic credit options can be discussed during the interview process.
