Between each inning of baseball at River Cats games, the fans are entertained by the promotions team. This team consists of Dinger the Mascot, the Cat Crew and the In-Game Entertainment Emcee. The In-Game Entertainment Emcee’s role is to provide high quality entertainment for fans during Sacramento River Cats home games. This is accomplished through the execution of promotions both on and off the field. The Emcee’s role is to also be informative and provide fans with more formal announcements as well.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Act as the “host” of River Cats baseball games and other Sutter Health Park events as needed.
  • Help organize pre-game elements (National Anthem, Play Ball Kid, etc.) and in-game promotions.
  • Execute on-field promotions to the satisfaction of the fans, supervisors, as well as corporate partners.
  • Promote in-stadium concessions, merchandise and sponsored tables through live shots.
  • Make periodic announcements when needed.
  • Engage fans in entertainment such as performances and cheers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to speak clearly with exceptional annunciation.
  • Desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • Must be able to improvise and have excellent problem-solving skills as well as recite scripted materials.
  • Assist with the set-up, execution and break-down of daily events and/or promotions.
  • Flexible availability – including mostly nights and weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel locally as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 1-year of experience with emceeing, announcing sporting events, on camera reporting, radio or television experience, on stage comedy experience, and/or live scripted show announcing.
  • Strong knowledge of the game of baseball.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
  • Ability to easily stand and move up and down stairs
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop and reach overhead as needed.

Compensation:

This position is a part-time role with a base rate of $20.00 per hour. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. In addition to compensation, employees can enjoy the following perks:
