FOOD AND BEVERAGE ASSISTANT

The Lookouts assistant position(s) will be open to college students and recent college graduates. Assistants will be required to work all home games and regular non-game day office hours. Members of the Assistant Program will be exposed to all facets of a Minor League Baseball organization and will gain practical, in-depth experience from one of the many positions. Hardball Capital believes in hiring from within; many of our current full-time staff members began as assistants with one of our clubs. All internships will be provided with a monthly stipend of $1,200.  

The Food and Beverage Assistant will report directly to the Food and Beverage Department. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
 
·         Assist in all aspects of food and beverage operations for all baseball games and special events (non-baseball games) at AT&T Field.
·         Assist in managing over 200 seasonal employees.
·         Aid in scheduling hours for the food and beverage department and assisting with payroll.
·         Assist the department in hiring, training and managing staff to ensure all points of sale are appropriately staffed, presented and managed on all event days. This includes ensuring quality standards are maintained in terms of products, service, safety, and sanitation.
·         Communicate effectively with guests, all levels of management and co-workers.
·         Properly care for and maintain equipment.
·         Ability to operate, troubleshoot and train other employees on point-of-sale systems.
·         Assist with stocking and preparing concession stands and food carts for all games.
·         Help maintain cleanliness of stands and group spaces to meet health code regulations.
·         Help control inventory, food costs and labor costs.
·         Assist with daily office operations.
·         Maintain ballpark standards and cleanliness.
·         Ability to walk, reach, stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time; climb stairs as needed.
·         Pull tarp.
·         Assisting in mascot and community appearances throughout the Tennessee Valley.
·         Stadium pre-season preparation and cleanup which may include weekends.
·         Other duties as assigned.
 
The applicant should be a self-motivator who thrives in a team environment; possesses good interpersonal, and customer service skills; ability to work effectively with attention to detail in a high- volume sales environment; ability to communicate clearly and resolve guest conflicts; goal oriented; quick learner; proficient in Microsoft Office, and able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Stipend:
$1,200 a month. ServSafe Food and Alcohol training will be provided.
 
Start Date: February 5
End Date: September 30
