JOB DESCRIPTION
Support Player Development (PD) Leadership group by providing administrative and operational responsibilities in the department, specifically with our Dominican Republic (DR) and Player Development Complex (PDC) operations. Provide additional support to the Short Season Field Coordinator and PD leadership, to develop and implement systems that drive and expedite player development at both complexes.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support PD Leadership with the day-to-day administrative and operational responsibilities within the department.
  • Oversee/Manage the execution of our immigration process (US & Canada). 
  • Participate in the creation of the DR Complex  annual budget. 
  • Responsible for preparing the monthly DR financial reconciliations.
  • Assist PD leadership with effectively communicating organizational priorities and drive messaging to players, coaches, coordinators and Front Office as it pertains to matters related to the DR Academy / Dominican Summer League (DSL) and Florida Complex League (FCL).
  • Assist Short-Season Field Coordinator and Assist Director, PD with program planning/initiatives to optimize development at the rookie levels throughout the year.
  • Serve as contact/liaison between PD leadership and our DR Academy staff.
  • Assist with player and staff inquiries.
  • Support the Cultural assimilation and Education program for our International players transitioning to the United States.
  • Responsible for player transition reports from DSL to PDC. 
  • Coordinate our minor league player assignments to winter leagues. 
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the Minor League Ops Business Manager.
  • Coordinate international player/staff travel to DR and Dunedin based development programs.
  • Assist the Director, Minor League Operations with managing of short season rosters and execution of roster moves (DSL/FCL/Dev group). 
  • Participate in player plans and player profiles as it pertains to DSL/FCL. 

PD Leadership Team Responsibilities
  • Participate in strategic planning as appropriate and contribute to player development mission.
  • Participate in Player Development hiring processes, specifically related to DSL and DR staff.
  • Encourage and facilitate inter-disciplinary communication in the DR amongst leadership to solve complex problems that may arise. 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in sports/business administration or related field preferred. 
  • Immigration administration experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Superior work ethic, ability to take direction, and desire to collaborate. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays. 
  • Willingness to relocate to greater Tampa, FL area
