 SUMMARY:

The primary function of this position is to coordinate the day-to-day logistics of the Long Island Nets basketball team. This includes working with and communicating across multiple stakeholders such as, basketball operations staff front office and coaching staff, external vendors, facility operators, and business operations. This role is based in the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY, with some time spent in Brooklyn at the HSS training facility and travel with the team as noted below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Direct and supervise the daily operational functions of the organization
  • Lead a team of up to 15 team attendants including selection, training, and day-to-day management
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of team travel; including itineraries, flights, bus, hotel, meals, per diem expenditures, etc. across a 50-game season
  • Responsible for partnering with the practice facility and arena to effectively schedule practices, games and events against competing priorities
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to further the goals and initiatives of these key partners
  • Support the organization and facilitation of the NBA Summer League, a two-week event that brings together the basketball community
  • Manage and effectively allocate a budget which encompasses key brand partnerships
  • Gameday responsibilities include coordinating with opposing team on all travel and gameday needs, game officials, building operations, and managing team attendants

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related field, or related equivalent experience or equivalent training and experience combined. Previous work experience in the basketball or sports operations field preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Full travel participation with the team throughout the season. Air/bus travel and overnight trips in accordance with team’s schedule.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works primarily in an office environment but is required to attend games, practice, and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays. This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.

SALARY RANGE: $65,000- $80,000, BSE benefits package including 401K eligibility.
