JOB SUMMARY:

 

Under the direction from the Manager of Team Services & Engagement, and the Sr. Director of Basketball Administration, the '2024-25 Seasonal Assistant, Team Services & Engagement' is responsible for supporting the Cavaliers Basketball Operations staff with day-to-day operations, including inventory management of giveaways, expense/invoice submissions, and transportation/logistics. Additionally, the Seasonal Assistant serves as a point-of-contact for staff and family members on game nights, and assists with the management of the Cavaliers Family Room before, during, and after all home games.

 

The Seasonal Assistant must be a personable and a willing helper with a sense of urgency, who can quickly identify and assess any issues while maintaining a positive, professional and confidential environment at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse and Cleveland Clinic Courts.

  • This is a temporary position from October 2024 - June 2025, that will work onsite at Cleveland Clinic Courts and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse approx. 40 hours per week.
  • Candidates MUST have flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and Holidays. 
  • There is no relocation assistance provided for seasonal positions.

PAY RATE: $15.00/HR          

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with invoice and expense submissions.
  • Receive and distribute giveaways and manage the inventory of all items in storage.
  • Assist with transportation and logistics as needed, including picking up items from other REG locations, local stores, etc.
  • Help plan, prepare and execute Basketball Operations events and gatherings, including setup and teardown of event spaces.
  • Assist with Basketball Operations initiatives and appearances as needed.
  • Assist with the Basketball Operations game night hospitality experience.
  • Promptly communicate any issues, questions, and/or concerns that arise to leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing or completed Bachelor’s degree in sports management, hospitality management, or a related field is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expected to work all Cavaliers home games, including preseason, regular season and postseason games, and games that occur on weekends/holidays.
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s license, clean driving record, and personal transportation, as driving to-and-from various locations is required.
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and extra hours as necessary.
  • Highly proficient verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and provide exceptional customer service to all guests and team members.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic. 
  • Experience working with people and as part of a team. 
  • Experience in the sports/entertainment/hospitality industry is a preferred.
