Season Associate Start Date: January 2025
Season Associate End Date: following the conclusion of the 24-25 Indiana Pacers Season
Anticipated Time Commitment: approximately 40 hours per week
Position Location: On-Site in Indianapolis, IN

Under the guidance of the Team Dietitian, the Nutrition Season Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the nutrition program. The overall focus will be on following and implementing the guidelines provided by the Team Dietitian to ensure daily oversight and compliance. Experience in applied sports nutrition is desired.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Team Dietitian to provide feedback and receive education.
  • Assist with the daily operation of the fueling station and practice/competition fueling. Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Overseeing inventory, stocking, and organizing all products.
    • Ensuring clean and hygienic nutritional environments within practice facility and game arena.
    • Making and distributing pre/post workout supplementation.
    • Assisting the Team Dietitian with supplement evaluation and athlete counseling for legality, safety, quality, efficacy and continuous awareness of all aspects of the supplement industry.
    • Implementing injured athlete supplement and fueling strategies.
    • Assisting the Team Dietitian with weekly body weight collection & body composition analysis.
    • Assisting the Team Dietitian in planning team meals as well as monitoring team meals.
    • Maintaining the cleanliness of the Gatorade Bar.
    • Assisting in team body composition testing and analysis.
    • Assisting with handout design and educational material development.
    • Collaborating with the Team Chef for quality assurance and menu compliance.
  • Participate in nutrition education via TeamWorks, Rize Vision, and other social media outlets.
  • Attend and work all Indiana Pacers home games.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related area, granted from an accredited college or university.
  • Completion of a coordinated and/or didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
  • RD credential required (with active registration through CDR).
  • Interest in working in sports nutrition and/or working towards obtaining CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics).
  • Must have an outstanding work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible work hours that include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain HIPPA confidentiality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 - 2 years sports dietetics experience in the collegiate and/or professional setting.
  • CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics) credential.
