The Utah Jazz & the Utah Hockey Club, franchises of the Smith Entertainment Group (SEG), are looking for an aspiring Asset Management Intern to join our dynamic creative services team assisting both sports team’s content organization and Media Asset Management (MAM) system. This position will assist with metadata tagging, and storage management of content for the sports franchise they are selected for, as well as other departments and teams within SEG. The right person for this position must be tech savvy, detail oriented, and have an attitude ready to learn. In this role, you will need to have a good sense of media and file organization, be comfortable tagging high volumes of content, and be versatile. You’ll be able to combine your passion for sports with data and media content. This is a part-time position. Expected to work 20-30 hours a week. The duration of the position is planned for October 2024 to October 2025, off-season to off-season, giving you the full internship experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn and use CatDV Media Asset Management platform to manage metadata fields 
  • Assist with tagging and organizing media content relating to the Utah Jazz & Utah Hockey Club 
  • Tag videos and help organize new content after game nights, recent video shoots, and archive footage 
  • Aid on-set productions with offloading footage and Data Management 
  • Assist editors, creators, and designers to find the content they need 
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment

COMPETENCIES:

  • Organized and strong attention to detail 
  • Understanding of frame rates, codecs, and other technical specifications of cameras and video. 
  • Ability to adjust data for high volumes of content, consistently with few errors
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (such as Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects). 
  • Experience and comfortability using Apple products and macOS. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 Year degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 0-1 years of demonstrated professional experience working in a fast-paced production environment 
  • Interest and familiarity in the NBA and NHL is preferred. 
  • SQL and Javascript experience is a plus. 
  • Interest or experience with metadata, data entry, or analytics. 
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Media Asset Management (MAM) platforms is a plus 
  • Previous video editing experience is a plus 
  • Flexibility in schedule to assist on productions (including weekends). 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Be hands-on and proactive. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 50 lbs.
