About the Position

The Golden State Warriors are looking for a proactive and organized professional to ensure the security of all team players and staff. In this role, you will conduct threat assessments of various types and hire additional security personnel to support the team and staff, including family room security, NBA All-Star team security, building security, player appearance security, and owners’ security at away games, if requested. This position reports to the Vice President, Team Operations.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide security to Warriors players and staff during all home and away games, NBA All Star games, NBA events, and player appearances, including related travel
  • Safeguard team at games against all threats and unauthorized members of the public
  • Collaborate with NBA security, NBA referees and arena security directors prior to all home and away games
  • Work with Warriors family room security personnel and player development personnel to ensure that family room is safe before, during and after all games and ensure family members have security to and from arena parking lot
  • Monitor locker room during games to ensure no one enters locker room without valid credentials
  • Partner with NBA security personnel to remain informed about current security concerns and data trends associated with the team
  • Partner with federal, state, and local law enforcement to remain informed of crime information that has the potential to impact Warriors players and staff
  • Respond to security requests and conduct background checks as requested by supervisor
  • Coordinate all team travel with Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
  • Coordinate and investigate any emergency that may occur at players’ residence
  • Investigate all incidents involving Warriors players
  • Arrange for security vehicle to transport players to events, if needed, based on security threat level
  • Coordinate with Team Travel Manager, Player Development personnel, as well as Events and Public Relations departments regarding travel and player appearance logistics, including any player or staff incidents
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years in security, preferably within the sports and entertainment industry
  • Deep understanding of operational characteristics, services and activities of live entertainment security and safety programs, crowd management and control techniques; familiarity with pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations
  • Experience in crisis management, investigation skills, security technology, life safety, and risk management
  • Experience collaborating with Human Resources, Public Relations, Events, and Legal departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lead, give clear, concise direction and provide feedback
  • Excellent communication, customer service and leadership skills; ability to build positive working relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
  • Passion for professional basketball and live entertainment

Time Commitment

  • Ability to work nights, weekend and holidays, including frequent travel

Compensation

  • $115,000 + Bonus
