DEPARTMENT:      2026 Miami Host Committee
REPORTS TO:         Director, Administration
STATUS:                  Temporary Full-Time (November 4, 2024 – Feb 13, 2026), Exempt (On-Site)
 
SUMMARY: Responsible for effective management and execution of the 2026 Miami Host Committee volunteer program in support of the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, CFP Ancillary Events and Host Committee events and programs.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Overall Management:
  • Serve as the primary Host Committee Volunteer contact for College Football Playoff (CFP) staff, assisting the CFP with all requests for assistance as necessary.
  • Handle all matters related to volunteers, with a primary focus on recruiting, training, assigning and monitoring.
  • Manage the volunteer management system (platform TBD).
  • Input information into database, uphold confidential record keeping, maintain applications, liability forms, and background checks.
  • Oversee setup and operation of volunteer headquarters during Championship week, including managing support staff and uniform distribution.
 
Recruitment:
  • Oversee recruiting strategy for the volunteer program.
  • Work with Host Committee leadership team to build an effective campaign including an advertising plan as well as attendance at South Florida events, job fairs and at other programs.
 
Trainings:
  • Organize volunteer training sessions including procurement of space, refreshments and training materials to be presented.
  • Deliver training to large groups of volunteers ranging from 20 to 2,000 volunteers.
  • Lead, brief, and train volunteers at various events leading up to and including the 2026 College Football 

Playoff National Championship Game

  • Communicate with volunteers regarding training, scheduling and shift details.

Host Committee / CFP Ancillary Events:
  • Assist with coordination and implementation of Host Committee events, including but not limited to: golf tournaments, kickoff luncheons, community celebrations, youth clinics, media party and pregame party.
  • Attend and provide assistance as requested for Host Committee, CFP and CFP Foundation ancillary events throughout 2025 and early 2026.
 
CFP Site Visits:
  • Participate in monthly CFP Site visits to Miami.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings as requested by CFP staff or Director, Administration.
 
Business Administration:
  • Day-to-day management of the volunteer program budget.
  • Management of purchase orders for all purchases and services.
  • Maintain Host Committee volunteer program filing system (print documents and digital files).
  • Maintain Host Committee volunteer program storage areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters.
  • Manage uniform order through Nike partnership, maintain inventory and develop effective distribution plan to volunteers throughout the year and during Championship Week.
  • Coordinate volunteer meal/snack distribution plan.
  • Coordinate all volunteer logistics including parking arrangements.

General:
  • Participation in regular Host Committee administrative meetings.
  • Interact with the Volunteer Committee on a regular basis.
  • Assist with volunteer placement and scheduling.
  • Practice hospitality towards all guests, volunteers and coworkers.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential and discreet manner.
  • Attend to all concerns and needs in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner, maintaining high standards for quality at all times.
  • Assistance on special projects as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Director, Administration.
  • Representation at various South Florida business appearances and functions as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Director, Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree desired plus three (3+) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to speak effectively and train large groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and organized manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work independently and to organize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to be a team player and wholeheartedly take on any task that is required.
