JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Projects & Facilities represents the RBOC through the oversight of campus projects and facility maintenance & repairs to ensure the Rose Bowl Stadium maintain as a world class sports and entertainment venue. 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facility Maintenance & Repair
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of all building systems throughout the Rose Bowl Campus including, but not limited to audio visual, electrical, fire protection, flooring, hardware, HVAC, mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing, roofing, security, and utilities.
  • Develop, implement, and execute a comprehensive preventative/annual maintenance plan to ensure all building systems are always functioning properly.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a campus work order system to serve as a digital database for the preventative maintenance program as well as general day-to-day maintenance and repair needs on the RBOC campus.
  • Direct tasks involving maintenance, repair, operation, replacement, and installation for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting, building controls, roofing, HVAC, building security, and grounds matters.
  • Perform routine visual and mechanical inspections of all RBOC campus building systems and structures and assist in the performance of maintenance tasks, as necessary and appropriate.
  • Promote a culture of sustainability throughout the Rose Bowl Campus by implementing best practices associated with energy management, utility management, and waste management among other sustainable initiatives.
Project Management
Develop, implement, and maintain accountability of a project management system for all maintenance projects, minor projects, and capital projects, and direct staff responsible for planning and execution of all maintenance projects and other minor projects.
In collaboration with leadership, define project scope and prepare a comprehensive scope of work for assigned capital improvement projects.
Develop project estimates and budgets for all proposed, and assigned, capital improvement projects.
Coordinate and manage all aspects of project planning, inclusive of feasibility studies, for all proposed and assigned capital improvement projects.
Develop and maintain productive relationships, and oversee the performance of, third party architect and engineer groups, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, and any other third party hired to assist with development and implementation of a project.
Develop all materials associated with soliciting proposals and bids in line with RBOC and City of Pasadena purchasing policies and procedures.
Serve as on-site point-of-contact for all architects, consultants, contractors, and/or sub-contractors associated with assigned projects, conducting job walks and ensuring a high level of quality control.

  • Provide event day support for all major events and select enterprise events.
  • Develop, maintain, and steward relationships with third party vendors retained to work on the Rose Bowl campus, and establish and manage contracts for maintenance and repair as needed.

Education and experience: 
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in related field in supervisory/management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Sports Management, Project/Construction Management or another relevant field.
Licenses and Certifications: 
  • Class C driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Mental and physical abilities: (Working Conditions)
Very frequent – 20+ hours per week:
Work inside, speaking on the telephone, keyboarding, use of sight, hearing, speaking, eye-hand coordination, reading, writing.
Frequent – 8 to 20 hours per week:
Standing, sitting, walking, occasional weekend work schedule, extended hours and/or overtime. Work outside, contact with the general public.
Occasional – up to 8 hours per week:
Lifting, pushing/pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, reaching, exposure to noise, temperature variation.

Pay Range: $79,976 – 123,963
The base pay range for this position may vary depending upon a number of factors including the individual candidates’ experience, qualifications, skills and competencies. This base pay is part of an overall package that is designed to compensate and recognize employees for their work and achievements. This position may be eligible for additional bonuses and commission incentives.
