Job Summary
We are seeking a creative, versatile Content Producer to support multi-sport content needs across video and social. This role sits between traditional videography/phone content capture and day-to-day social posting, with a focus on producing high-quality, platform-ready social media content that elevates the Utah Utes brand across teams and department-wide initiatives.
You will capture, edit, and post video and photo content for social, digital, and storytelling use while collaborating closely with the social, video, photography, and marketing teams. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced college athletics environment that requires strong creative instincts, technical skill, and the ability to move quickly between sports and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Production

- Capture and edit high-quality video and photo content across University of Utah Athletics programs and department initiatives
- Produce short-form and mid-form video optimized for social platforms (Reels, TikTok, Stories, YouTube Shorts, etc.)
- Create social-ready assets including vertical video, cutdowns, graphics packages, and quick-turn highlights
- Support game day, practice, and behind-the-scenes content needs across multiple sports
Social & Platform Support
- Package and deliver content in formats that social coordinators and managers can post efficiently
- Collaborate with the social team on content ideas, storytelling angles, and platform-specific best practices
- Assist with real-time or rapid-turnaround content during high-priority games and events as needed
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Social Media Managers/Coordinators, Video Production, Photography, and Marketing to align on priorities and timelines
- Support department-wide campaigns, recruiting content, and brand storytelling initiatives
- Maintain clear communication on project status, asset delivery, and upcoming needs
Technical & Brand Standards
- Edit primarily in Premiere Pro, CapCut, and related tools; basic graphic work in Photoshop or similar
- Ensure all content meets University of Utah, Big 12, NCAA, and brand guidelines
- Organize and manage media files for easy access by the broader content team
Flexibility & Game-Day Support
- Work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel
- Provide flexible production support across sports rather than being tied to a single program
Qualifications
Required:
- 1–3+ years of professional experience in video production, content creation, or social content (college athletics, professional sports, or entertainment preferred)
- Strong proficiency in video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar) and comfort with photo editing
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging short-form video and social-optimized content
- Understanding of major social platforms and current content formats/trends
- Ability to work across multiple projects and sports with strong organization and time management
- Clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed
- Passion for college athletics and the University of Utah / Utah Utes brand
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Film, Communications, Journalism, Sports Management, or related field
- Experience producing content in a college athletics or professional sports setting
- Working knowledge of graphic design tools (Photoshop, Canva, or similar)
- Experience with multi-camera or run-and-gun game-day filming
- Familiarity with content planning workflows and project management tools
