Summary of Job. This position is responsible for assisting with preparation and maintenance of the ice surface and rink area of GIANT Center during Hershey Bears games.  Employees will clear snow and maintain the ice surface and rink area as required by the American Hockey League.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Assist in the preparation of the ice surface prior to the games.*

• Shovel snow during timeouts throughout games.*

• Assist with promotional activities as needed by placing and removing items needed for on-ice promotional activities.

• Assist other staff with making repairs and adjustments to boards and glass.

• Deliver a high level of service to both internal and external customers at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years of age or older on the date of applying

• Must be able to skate quickly while carrying equipment.

• Must have a valid driver’s license 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information

• Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

• Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.

• Basic knowledge of the sport of ice hockey.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Comfortable in front of large crowds and on camera.

Job Demands:

• Must have strong skating ability

• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, with shifts starting as early as 1:00 PM and ending as late as 12:00 AM, in accordance with Child Labor Laws

• Physical requirements include the ability to stand for up to three hours at a time, walk, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, and the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level, and lift up to twenty (20) pounds without assistance.

• Employees are subject to a cold, ice rink environment.

• Employees may be exposed to loud noises and strobe lights.

• Employee must provide proper footwear (hockey skates)
