Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.

The Picnic Coordinator position is responsible for coordinating the catering opening with the food and beverage staff, assisting the sales person with client needs throughout the catering, greeting guests and maintaining accurate ticket count for the catering. This position works in a team environment with other members, including catering staff and other picnic coordinators.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Meet and greet sales clients and their guests during catering*

  • Apply knowledge of catering menus to ensure the accuracy of buffet setups*

  • Track and communicate updated guest counts to the Catering Supervisory staff*

  • Apply basic knowledge of Hersheypark in order to assist guests with directions and general park questions*

  • Maintain cleanliness of entrance areas into catering to include: sweeping, window washing, and sanitizing workspace*

  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the catering event including confirmation of final billing*

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned  

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older on the date of applying

  • Post Employment - Must be certified or be able to pass an alcohol service class (RAMP Training – will be provided)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines 

  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times

  • Must be able to multitask while prioritizing job tasks and assignments

  • Proven guest relations, problem-solving, task management skills, and organizational skills

Job Demands:

  • Must be able to work at least 24 hours a week, Memorial Day through Labor Day, as well as 2 weekends each month.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including morning, evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Physical requirements include ability to stand for up to five hours at a time, walk, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, and the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level, and lift up to twenty (20) pounds without assistance

  • Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather. Work is almost exclusively outdoors.  

  • Employee must provide proper footwear (black non-skid/non-slip sneakers)
