OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Hamilton Sports Group, which operates the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club and Forge FC Hamilton and Tim Hortons Field events, is an organization with a rich history both on and off the field. The organization is committed to creating a world class fan experience at all Tim Hortons Field events.

The Hamilton Sports Group is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our Corporate Partnerships team. The Director of Corporate Partnership Sales will be responsible for generating new sponsorship revenue across all the organization’s properties. Qualified individuals possess strong sponsorship sales, relationship development skills and will be responsible for generating new revenue via fully integrated corporate marketing partnerships. He or she already has an established reputation and track record of success, gained with any combination of major brands, teams or agencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively prospect, target, pitch and secure partnerships for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Forge FC and stadium
  • Develop and maximize networking opportunities with potential and existing sponsors and relevant marketing agencies
  • Understand the prospect’s brand objectives and design sales presentations to reflect brand synergies and positioning
  • Helping develop paths to reach Hamilton Sports Group revenue targets; consistently strategizing for business and relationship growth
  • Collaborate and support the department’s service team in executing all partner relationships, contracts, and events.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You can work during gamedays and events in the evenings and weekends – this is the sports and entertainment business, after all.
  • Collaborate with other departments to build out sponsored programs, including creative and communications, data and analytics, etc.
MEASUREMENTS OF SUCCESS

  • Support the Corporate Sales team achieve or surpass all department and global organization targets
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with current corporate partners and prospects
  • Creates and implements new partnership opportunities to drive incremental revenue
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE)

Job Specific Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven track-record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Prior experience using business intelligence to prospect, pitch and close partnership deals
  • Experience developing sponsorship property assets that align with partner objectives
  • Is positive, outgoing and enjoys selling
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience either at the property or agency side and experience working with sports partnerships
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in marketing, business, sports administration or other related disciplines an asset
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

  • Will be required to work all home games, as well as weekends and evenings when necessary
  • Will be required to have access to a vehicle at all times
  • In office work environment.
