Position Summary:  
This position is responsible for managing and coordinating server and software services for all aspects of the organization. The Assistant Director, Systems/Applications Engineer works closely with the Assistant Director, Network Administration/Systems to provide a complete technology experience to the staff, teams and guests of MetLife Stadium. From a server, software and services perspective, the Assistant Director, Systems/Applications Engineer develops and executes the tactical approach to implement the initiatives requested by the Vice President, Stadium Technology.

Essential Functions:  
  • Responsible for providing high level of customer service to both NFL teams, maintaining absolute neutrality on all team issues and protecting confidentiality of each teams’ information.
  • Communicates effectively (oral and in writing) with NMS management, ownership and other stakeholders.
  • Manage compliance with stadium, team, NFL and regulatory requirements (PCI DSS Compliance, HIPAA, etc.) the annual PCI DSS Compliance process and the software portion of financial and information security audits.
  • Assist in developing and implementing IT security and usage policies.
  • Manage, support and operate in house servers, applications and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments, the teams and vendors to achieve IT based objectives, and ensure all security and usage policies are followed.
  • Actively coordinate with all departments to unify software applications
  • Develop in-house, or where applicable manage outsourced, information reporting solutions to drive decision making for upper management.
  • Manage annual budget of all software, server and application needs
  • Review and approve third party contracts that relate to outsourcing parts of any managed project.
  • Develop, review, and certify all IT business continuity planning, disaster recovery and back-up procedures.
  • Assess new technologies and determine possible value to the organization.
  • Coordinate various security entities (DHS, FBI, NJSP, etc) accessing security systems for game day tactical response.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ideal candidate would also have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Information Technology or related field preferred
  • 8-10 years of proven experience in a System Administration and Engineering role
  • 5+ years' experience managing an infrastructure team and communicating with multiple lines of business
  • Experience designing and building high performance, low latency distributed systems
  • Excellent problem solving and large-scale systems debugging skills
  • Strong desire to troubleshoot large-scale problems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey intricate systems and logic to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent motivational skills and ability to align teams toward company goals and vision
  • Knowledge of Azure/Active Directory, Office 365, Windows Servers, Windows 11 & 10, MS SQL, WSUS/WDS, SCCM, VxRail, Exchange Server, EMC/ISILON, SAN/NAS Devices, Veeam, Microsoft Dynamics, DMX512, Dante, SMPTE 2110

Physical Demands:
  • Position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist, turn and climb stairs
  • Position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, during events, the noise level may be loud;  
  • Employee must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as dictated by the unique event schedule at MetLife Stadium
