Summary
The Iowa Barnstormers Football Club is a dynamic, locally owned, highly successful franchise that plays in the Indoor Football League. Based in Des Moines, Iowa, the team has established a strong, loyal fan base and is looking for energetic, professional, and self-motivated individuals to join our sales team.
This an entry level position. Our emphasis is to provide significant challenges, varying daily operational requirements, and opportunity for creativity, resourcefulness, and excellence. Our program is based on teaching the fundamentals of ticket sales including prospecting, cold calling, and conducting meetings. The focus of our sales staff will be season ticket package and individual ticket sales, group sales, and corporate sponsorship sales. The focus of the sales team will be adjusted based on the needs of the organization.
This position is paid hourly with the opportunity to earn commission.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn best practices for selling season, group, and corporate packages
- Assist with the distribution of sales and promotional materials
- Participate in regularly scheduled office hours (part-time and full-time opportunities available)
- Participate in grassroots marketing activities in the Greater Des Moines community with the purpose of fan development and sales lead generation
- Learn and process orders using the Paciolan ticketing system
- Participate in weekly meetings to discuss sales goals, leads, and strategies for driving new business
- Other duties as assigned by Barnstormers management
Skills and Qualifications
- College degree in sales or related field
- Must have a strong interest in sales field
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, and computer skills
- Able to provide own transportation
